Simply said, prayer is dialogue or conversation with God. It's pleading with Him to satisfy your needs or those of others. It's an expression of gratitude and praise. It has to do with consecrating and dedicating things to Him. We must pray for anything and everything and pray without ceasing 1 Thes 5:17
By praying, we allow God to enter our circumstances and issues and begin to act on them. We become partners with God via prayer. He can reach individuals and minister to their hearts, even while we are unable to truly alter people and win their love for Him.
The Bible says in James 5:16 that “The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.” Effective prayer has to do with the heart. It’s not so much what you say but the heart that you say it with. Prayer is passionate. It’s about sincerity of the heart and putting your whole heart into it.
Hebrews 11:6 says that faith pleases God, and if we believe He exists and seek Him, He will reward us. We don’t have to beg and plead with Him to help us. God is a good God! He loves you and wants what is best for you.
Remember the only prayer that God will answer is the one that lines up with His will.
Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His to His will, he hears us 1 John 5:14
So before we pray we should know God’s will. His will can be seen in Matthew 6:10 Your kingdom come, your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Many Christians get confused about God’s will and it stunts their prayer life. The best way to know God’s will is to know God personally and know His Word. Look at His promises, look at what Jesus did, look at Gods heart, nature, and character. He is all love, He is a liberator, Healer and deliverer and author of all Life. We should learn to pray according to God’s heart, and His Word. When we pray God’s Word we are praying God’s Will.
