New Believers

There are only two types of people in the world. Those that:

REJECT Jesus Christ

 ACCEPT Christ

Remain in there sins

Have been forgiven of their sins

Live for themselves

Have chosen to live for God

Live under the law and condemnation

Live under grace

Still operate in their sin nature

Those who have the Holy Spirt and His nature

Are Spiritually dead

Are born again and have God’s life in them

Are going to hell because they have rejected the Life that God offers

Going to heaven to live in God’s glorious kingdom for ever

If you have not yet made a decision for Christ then I strongly encourage you to do so since the Bible makes a lot of promises but it never promises that we are guaranteed tomorrow. There is nothing more important in our lives than to know that we are right with God and that we have passed from spiritual death to Life in God. I think back to my younger years when I lived for myself, and it scares me to think that If I would have lost my life in those days I would have lost my soul.

If you do decide to get your heart right with God and make Jesus Lord then the following prayer will be an example of a prayer you can say to God. The beginning of this prayer is part of Psalms 51 where King David repented to God of his sins. God is interested in the motive and intent of your heart and not in you just repeating a prayer. If you mean what say and say what you mean, then this prayer will work for you either way.

Prayer of Salvation

Dear Lord,

Have mercy on me, O God, because of your unfailing love. Because of your great compassion, blot out the stain of my sins. Wash me clean from my guilt. Purify me from my sin. For I recognize my rebellion; it haunts me day and night. Against you, and you alone, have I sinned;

I believe that Jesus  died on the cross and resurrected so I can be saved. Lord thank you that you did what I could not do for myself. I come to you now and ask you to take control of my life; I give it to you. From this day forward, help me to live every day for you and in a way that pleases you.

I love you, Lord, and I thank you that I will spend all of eternity with you.

Amen.

Now What?

If you just prayed a sincere prayer of faith and you're wondering what to do next as a new Christian, check out these helpful suggestions:

  • Salvation is by grace, through faith. There’s nothing you did, or ever can do, to deserve it. Salvation is a free gift from God. All you have to do is receive it!
  • Tell someone about your decision. It's important that you tell someone to make it public, secure, and firm. Find a brother or sister in the Lord and tell him or her, “Hey, I made a decision to follow Jesus.” Tell someone today if you can.
Sign up as a member and put in the notes what you just did so we can pray for you and correspond with you.
  • Talk to God every day. You don’t have to use big fancy words. There are no right and wrong words. Just be yourself. Thank the Lord daily for your salvation. Pray for others in need. Seek his direction. Pray for the Lord to fill you daily with his Holy Spirit. There is no limit to prayer. You can pray with your eyes closed or open, while sitting or standing, kneeling or lying on your bed, anywhere, anytime.
